Students under 13 years of age require parental consent to use CoderZ. When a student registers their account and inputs their age as 13 or less, an email is sent to their parent or guardian to obtain that consent before their account can be activated. If the parent missed that email or cannot find it, you as a teacher can easily resend that email. Here's how:
- Access the class, and then the student user. (Until their parent gives consent, the student's user will show the parent/guardian's name and a little 'Guardian' tag under the avatar)
- Click the menu at the right-hand corner
- Select 'Parental Consent'
- In the window that pops up, either:
- Click 'Resend' to resend the email to the parent/guardian
OR - Copy the parental consent link and send it directly to the parent/guardian via whatever form of communication you prefer to use
- Click 'Resend' to resend the email to the parent/guardian
After the parent/guardian provides consent and activates their child's account, the student's name will be updated:
