Removing students / duplicate users
Creating Teams
- On the navigation bar, press the “CoderZ League” tab (not to be confused with the "My Classes" tab which is where you assign students non-League courses).
- Press “Create New Team”
- Give your team a name (and a description if you wish)
- Select your School/Organization from the drop-down menu. You may have received your licenses from various different organizations. Choose the relevant one for this team. According to the organization you create this team under, you might have different League content available.
- Click “Next”
- Select your division from the drop-down menu
The relevant League content will be added to this team. Note the number of teams available and expiration date: - Click "Next"
- The team is created; all that's left is now to invite students to join in one of 3 ways:
- Copy the class code and share it with your students in whatever way you wish. They should enter it in the CoderZ login page under "Join Class"
- Copy the invite link and share with your students. They will need to enter this code in the CoderZ login page under "Join Class" and complete the self registration process
- Add students from an existing class
Click "Done", and congrats! Your team is now part of CoderZ League!
Adding Students to Your Team
Adding students to your team is part of the initial process of setting up a Team; however, if you skipped that step during the initial set-up, or if you now wish to invite additional students to an existing team, here's how:
- Inside your Team, press the "Settings" cog icon at the top right corner
- Click the “Invite students” tab
- Invite students to join in one of 3 ways:
- Copy the class code and share it with your students in whatever way you wish. They should enter it in the CoderZ login page under "Join Class"
- Copy the invite link and share with your students. They will need to enter this code in the CoderZ login page under "Join Class" and complete the self registration process
- Add students from an existing team or class
Students who joined will be visible on the “Teammates” panel on the bottom of the screen under “My team” tab.
Note:
Make sure your students register to your team only once; if they click the link twice, they might create two separate users in your team and thus take up two seats!
After students create their account the first time, they should log in with their username and password via the login page from then on.
Removing Students / Duplicate Users
You can remove duplicate users or students who are no longer participating by clicking the three-dots icon next to their name and selecting 'Remove Student':
Switching Between Teams
In order to switch between teams, a teacher can press the triangle next to their team name, and a dropdown menu showing all their teams will open. Select a different team to switch view.
This is our first year with Coderz League, Jr.- We have paid for a class of 30. Is the entire class of 30 students one team, or can I break them into smaller teams? If we can break into smaller teams, what are the advantages/disadvantages of doing so?
Hi Khrista,
The League is structured so that teams always include either 30 (Class license) or 5 (Team licence) students, based on the type of license you purchased.
However, you can certainly have students work in smaller groups during the Training Camp phase of the League - you can do this by creating classes: https://coderz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016885959-Training-Camp-How-do-I-Add-a-Class-
2021 Update - CoderZ League 2021 a team consists of up to 6 students. A class license of 30 students is not available.
